Road to Leaving the 9-5
Hi everyone - I have been slowing building my facilitation business around my 9-5 job, but am looking to secure enough clients in the next year to officially leave my 9-5. It's an exciting journey, but nerve-wreaking at the same time. A few questions for the group: 1. how long did it take you to excite full-time employment (if you had a full-time job before facilitation work)? 2. What industry to you find your most successful facilitations from? 3. What is your favorite workshop energizer to get the group excited again after lunch?

Favourite creativity exercises?
Hi all! Just wondering - what are some of your favourite go-to methods to use in a workshop if you want people to express themselves creatively in a group? For example, after the group has gotten some input, some date to work with, and the outcome you want to achieve is that the participants put this new information into "practise" and through some creative activity maybe see it in a new perspective? For example, I have used the approach of asking them to create a short-form (for ex. 3 minute) play so they can symbolize and act out what they have just heard or making a collage. What else comes to mind, what are your experiences? Or do you even use approaches like these? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. :)

Do you have a Thought Partner?
Many facilitators are also solopreneurs, which means that when it comes to creating workshops they are working on their own. But, it would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off or to co-create with. We may ask a friend for thoughts and comments (or post on here), but we don't go into depth due to time constraints. A friend of mine had this problem for a Creative Workshop she was going to run and reached out to me. After some discussion we came to the realization that what she was looking for was a Thought Partner. Take a look at the video we made about this, and then add your comments or thoughts below. And if you would like to explore hiring me as a Thought Partner, reach out 😀
